Step: 1 WSL Installation
Initially, we have to install the windows subsystem for Linux (WSL) through the execution of below mentioned steps.
- Open the powershell prompt as an administrator
- Install WSL through executing the below mentioned command
wsl –install
Step: 2 Ubuntu 18.04 Installation
While completing the process of WSL installation, we have to install the Ubuntu 18.04 through executing the following commands in the powershell prompt window.
wsl –install -d Ubuntu-18.04
Step: 3 Download Ns2 in Windows
Following that, we have to download the Ns2 for windows through the web link highlighted below.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/nsnam/files/latest/download
Step: 4 Install Ns2 in Windows
Simultaneously, we have to change the Ns2 package location and execute the following commands for the installation of Ns2 in windows.
sudo ./install
Step: 5 Execute Ns2 Simulation in Windows
We have to create the tcl based Ns2 simulation main file in the project workspace in windows and we have to execute the commands that have been highlighted in the following to execute Ns2 simulation.
cd /home/research/Desktop/NS2_simulation
sudo ./ns Main.tcl
